Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Pride vs. Loudoun Valley Vikings

Heritage is 2-8 against Loudoun Valley since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Heritage Pride are taking a road trip to face off against the Loudoun Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Loudoun Valley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Heritage, who comes in off a win.

Loudoun Valley will be up against a hot Heritage squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Heritage blew past Dominion 54-12 on Tuesday. The Pride have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Heritage got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keira Stanford out in front who posted eight points in addition to five boards and four steals. Stanford has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Egnotovich, who earned six points.

Meanwhile, Loudoun Valley ended up a good deal behind Broad Run on Wednesday and lost 57-40.

Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Loudoun Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Heritage didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Loudoun Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 48-44 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Heritage since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
