Volleyball Recap: Avalon Legg Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Higley + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Corona del Sol had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Higley Knights as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

One reason for the win was Corona del Sol's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-16, 25-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Corona del Sol to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avalon Legg, who had ten digs and three aces. Erin Clark was another key player, getting 14 digs and two assists.

They weren't the only good servers: Corona del Sol was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matches.

Corona del Sol is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 32-6 record this season. As for Higley, their loss dropped their record down to 18-13-3.

Looking ahead, Corona del Sol will welcome Highland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Higley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
