Baseball Game Preview: Jones Eagles vs. Brooks Eagles

Jones is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will venture away from home to square off against Brooks at 4:30 p.m. Brooks took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Jones, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Jones needed a bit of extra time to put away Berwyn/Cicero Morton. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mustangs, sneaking past 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Jack Condne was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ellis Alexander, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Brooks came up short against Marian Catholic on Tuesday, falling 17-7. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly ten runs.

Amani Braden made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Colin White also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Brooks and nudges their season record down to 2-9. As for Jones, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Everything went Jones' way against Brooks when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Jones made off with a 17-7 victory. Will Jones repeat their success, or does Brooks has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
