Football Game Preview: O'Bannon Greenwaves vs. Winona Tigers + Official Tickets

The O'Bannon Greenwaves will face off against the Winona Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. O'Bannon's defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so Winona's offense will have their work cut out for them.

O'Bannon easily dispatched Amanda Elzy last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Greenwaves fell just short of Humphreys County by a score of 22-20 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Winona came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Nettleton 42-14. Winona's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Winona's win came from a few key players O'Bannon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Landon Crawford, who threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns on perfect 6-for-6 passing. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Another player making a difference was Tavarius Eden, who rushed for 57 yards and one TD.

Winona's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB 5.5 times. Leading the way was Antonio Young with two sacks. He is becoming a predictor of Winona's success: when he posts at least one sack the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

Winona's record now sits at 6-4. As for O'Bannon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
