Mansfield Summit waltzed into their match on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-48 win over the Joshua Owls. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Owls are ranked 382nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mansfield Summit pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Joshua, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

Mansfield Summit will square off against Burleson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Joshua, they will head out to square off against Seguin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
