Basketball Recap: Chaputnguak Shaman vs. Kalskag Grizzly Bears
The Chaputnguak Shaman waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 59-28 victory over Kalskag at home. Chaputnguak's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Kalskag's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aurriaunna Peterson, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Levi, who scored seven points.
Chaputnguak pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Kalskag, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Chaputnguak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kalskag also has no future games currently scheduled.
