Flag Football Game Preview: Newnan Cougars vs. Starr's Mill Panthers

The Newnan Cougars will square off against the Starr's Mill Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Newnan 12, Starr's Mill 7) so any points scored will be well earned.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Monday. Newnan fell 12-6 to Alexander. Newnan has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Starr's Mill's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Landmark Christian a 22-0 shutout. Considering the Panthers have won three games by more than 20 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Starr's Mill pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 0.0 points on average over those games. As for Newnan, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Newnan and Starr's Mill were almost perfectly matched up in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but Newnan suffered an agonizing 7-6 defeat.
