Basketball Game Preview: Arvin Bears vs. Farmersville Aztecs

Arvin and Farmersville are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Arvin Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Farmersville Aztecs at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Arvin is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

While Arvin didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 63-29 victory over Woodlake. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Farmersville's strategy against Laton on Thursday. Farmersville was the clear victor by a 46-22 margin over Laton.

Arvin pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Farmersville, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Arvin took their win against Farmersville in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 65-45. Will Arvin repeat their success, or does Farmersville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
