Softball Game Preview: Soledad Aztecs vs. North Salinas Vikings

Soledad is 0-6 against North Salinas since March of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Aztecs will take on the Vikings at 4:30 p.m.

Alisal hit Soledad with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Aztecs came up short against the Trojans, falling 9-1. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Aztecs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Salinas, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against King City by a score of 6-2 on Tuesday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Audri Palmer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Iliana Perez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Irie Williams, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

North Salinas' win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Soledad, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12-1.

Soledad couldn't quite get it done against North Salinas in their previous meeting two weeks ago as they fell 12-9. Can the Aztecs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
