Volleyball Recap: Walker Valley Takes a Loss

Walker Valley managed to slip by Rhea County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs came up short against the Golden Eagles on Wednesday, falling 3-0.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Rhea County scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18, 25-20.

Leading Rhea County to victory were Kamryn Swafford and Kindale Rumer. Swafford had 15 digs and three assists, while Rumer had 21 assists and six digs. That's the most digs Rumer has posted over her last eight contests.

Walker Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-20 record this season. As for Rhea County, they moved to 14-14 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Walker Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Sweetwater on the 2nd. As for Rhea County, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Bradley Central on the 2nd.
