Football Game Preview: Hebron Academy Lumberjacks vs. Holderness Bulls

After both having extra time off, the Hebron Academy Lumberjacks and the Holderness Bulls will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Hebron Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Pomfret School, who was ranked second in their home state at the time (Hebron Academy was ranked 17th). The Lumberjacks were the clear victors by a 44-18 margin over the Griffins last Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Lumberjacks in their matchups with the Griffins: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Holderness took their game last Friday with ease, bagging a 50-13 victory over Albany Academy for Boys. The contest marked the Bulls' most dominant win of the season.

Holderness' victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Hebron Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Hebron Academy came up short against Holderness in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 34-30. Can the Lumberjacks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
