Football Game Preview: Calipatria Hornets vs. Clairemont Chieftains + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Ozzie Lopez and Tyler Allen are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Calipatria Hornets will face off against the Clairemont Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Calipatria and six for Clairemont.

On Friday, Calipatria and Southwest EC were almost perfectly matched up, but Calipatria suffered a 21-20 defeat. Despite 94 more yards than the Eagles, the Hornets couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Meanwhile, Clairemont ended up a good deal behind Kearny two weeks ago and lost 38-20. The Chieftains were down 30-8 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Calipatria will have to contain Dominick Perkins as he made an impact in Clairemont's last game. He rushed for 63 yards and one touchdown, and also caught one TD.

Clairemont's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Calipatria, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Calipatria beat Clairemont 68-56 when the teams last played back in September. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Chieftains have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
