Football Recap: Prince George Comes Up Short

Prince George extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 3-7. They fell 28-21 to the Petersburg Crimson Wave. The Royals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crimson Wave apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Prince George still got an impressive performance from Lawrence Hewlett Jr., who rushed for 155 yards while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 92 yards and one touchdown.

As for Petersburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Surprisingly, this marked their fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Petersburg found their leader in sophomore Xavier Scott, who picked up a sack and made 20 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Prince George does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Petersburg, they will challenge York at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crimson Wave will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
