Baseball Recap: Chatfield Takes a Loss

Chatfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 9-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Riley Suddath was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Reed Narva was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Banning Low, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Chatfield's record is now 5-4. As for Mountain Vista, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Chatfield will take on Dakota Ridge at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain Vista, they will challenge Arvada West at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Arvada West will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Mountain Vista surely won't give up without a fight.
