Recap: Economedes Jaguars vs. Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets
It was a good run, but the Economedes Jaguars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 62-48 fall against Edcouch-Elsa. Economedes was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Edcouch-Elsa apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.
Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leo Zamora, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds. Jeremiah Gomez was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Economedes' loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Edcouch-Elsa, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Economedes is on the road again on Friday and play against Rio Grande City at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. As for Edcouch-Elsa, they will face off against Palmview at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Palmview's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
