Basketball Recap: Saxony Lutheran Comes Up Short

Saxony Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 58-35 to the Portageville Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 56th).

Saxony Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Portageville, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Saxony Lutheran will head out to challenge Kennett at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Saxony Lutheran is facing Kennett at the right time seeing as Kennett is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Portageville, they will be playing at home against Scott City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
