Preview: Yosemite Badgers vs. Fowler Redcats
Yosemite has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Fowler Redcats at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Yosemite has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Yosemite posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Fresno Christian 37-34.
It was another big night for Jadyn Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Johnson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Bullock, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
In what's become a running theme this season, Fowler gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Riverdale 59-28 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Fowler has posted since December 12, 2023.
Yosemite's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Fowler, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9.
Things could have been worse for Yosemite, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-36 loss to Fowler in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Yosemite avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
