Basketball Game Preview: Templeton Eagles vs. St. Joseph Knights

The Templeton Eagles will take on the St. Joseph Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Templeton: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while St. Joseph has snatched up eight consecutive wins on the road.

Templeton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 64 points on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Mission College Prep on Friday. They were beaten by the Royals 92-29. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 543rd, while the Royals are ranked 125th).

Meanwhile, St. Joseph was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Weston Ranch 93-62. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Templeton's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for St. Joseph, their win bumped their record up to 25-1.

Templeton was taken down by St. Joseph 95-43 when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of St. Joseph's Tounde Yessoufou, who went 13 for 15 on his way to 29 points and eight steals.
