Basketball Game Preview: Frontier Cougars vs. River Pilots

The Frontier Cougars will challenge the River Pilots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Frontier is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Belpre just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 65-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles.

Frontier might have lost, but man, Jacob Bowersock was a machine: he went 7-for-12 to rack up 22 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That was a full 38.6% of the Cougars' points, marking the third time in a row Bowersock has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kason Hoff, who shot 46% from the field en route to 15 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, River earned a 55-45 win over Shenandoah on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pilots.

Frontier's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for River, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
