Volleyball Recap: Bishop's Knights vs. Coronado Islanders
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bishop can now relate to. They fell just short of the Coronado Islanders by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Islanders this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss back in August.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Bishop's sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-27, 25-21, 20-25, 15-10.
Coronado was led to victory by Leah Camaisa and Savannah Browning. Camaisa had 12 digs, while Browning had eight blocks and six kills. That's the most digs Camaisa has posted since back in September.
Bishop's loss dropped their record down to 24-8. As for Coronado, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 33-7.
The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, Bishop's and Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on the 6th. As for Coronado, they will challenge Torrey Pines at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
