Volleyball Recap: Jenkins Beats Johnson for Their Fourth Straight Win

Jenkins entered their tilt with Johnson on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Atomsmashers by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

Jenkins easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-7.

Jenkins was led to victory by Arah Maningas and Emily Carter. Maningas had nine aces, while Carter had 12 assists and three aces. Those nine aces gave Maningas a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Jenkins was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive matches.

Jenkins' record is now 14-9. As for Johnson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Jenkins didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Windsor Forest on the 18th. As for Johnson, they are taking a road trip to challenge Beach at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
