Volleyball Recap: Thomas County Central Takes a Loss

Thomas County Central entered their game against Houston County on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Yellow Jackets took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. The match marked the first time this year in which the Yellow Jackets were not able to get on the board.

Thomas County Central was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-19.

Their offense was headlined by Kate Henson and Jaden Crews, who picked up three kills apiece. Henson really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with six. Finally, Lola Parker kept Thomas County Central's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Thomas County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Coming up, Thomas County Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Grace Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Houston County, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Lowndes on the 9th.
