Football Game Preview: Clayton Clippers vs. Sterling Silver Knights

The Clayton Clippers are taking a road trip to challenge the Sterling Silver Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clayton's defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so Sterling's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Clayton is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Overbrook just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 38-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Clippers have suffered since October 24, 2024.

Meanwhile, Sterling lost to Collingswood at home by a 31-14 margin on Friday. The Silver Knights have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Clayton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Sterling, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Clayton took their win against Sterling when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 33-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Clippers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
