CASTLEWOOD, Va. -
Central [Kelly/Pound] (Wise, Va.) jumped out to an early lead against Castlewood (Va.) and never looked back on the way to a 44-6 victory on Saturday.
The Warriors scored 20 points in the first quarter. Central [Kelly/Pound] scored on a touchdown run by
Logan Adkins, a
Logan Collins touchdown run and a touchdown run by
Brad Brooks.
After taking the lead on a Adkins touchdown run in the first quarter, CKP led 37-0 at the half.
The Wise school grew its lead to 44 points entering the fourth quarter. The Warriors scored once in the quarter on a Adkins touchdown run.
Castlewood's only touchdown came on a 30-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Central [Kelly/Pound] got revenge for last year's 32-14 loss to the Blue Devils with the victory.
The victory was a step in the right direction for CKP, which was coming off a 18-0 defeat at the hands of Eastside [Coeburn/St. Paul] in its previous game.
