The Columbine Rebels will take on the Ralston Valley Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Columbine has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Ralston Valley will arrive with three straight victories.
Valor Christian hit Columbine with a four-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rebels fell 9-4 to the Eagles.
Pryce Richie made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Salvador Dominguez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Ralston Valley had just enough and edged out Monarch 5-4 on Saturday.
Porter Peonio looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Nico Benallo was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Degan Gregory, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Ralston Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.
Columbine's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Ralston Valley, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Columbine suffered a grim 15-3 defeat to Ralston Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
