Saint Francis is 9-1 against Archbishop Mitty since June of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Lancers will host the Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. Saint Francis will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.
Saint Francis' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matches by six runs or more this season.

Hailey Nguyen tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Saint Francis let Peyton Tsao and May Meltz run wild. Tsao went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Meltz went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Meltz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaime Oakland, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Saint Francis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Archbishop Mitty, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Ignatius College Preparatory on Friday, sneaking past 2-1.
Kyleigh Mace spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Archbishop Mitty saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa (Lou) Hahn, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Hahn has brought in this season.
Saint Francis pushed their record up to 23-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Archbishop Mitty, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-1 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Saint Francis has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Archbishop Mitty struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Saint Francis skirted past Archbishop Mitty 3-1 in their previous meeting back in April. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Monarchs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
