Recap: Potter-Dix Coyotes vs. Creek Valley Storm
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lone Star, the Potter-Dix Coyotes were happy to have found some success on Friday. They took down Creek Valley 51-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Potter-Dix also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Potter-Dix to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madison Williamson, who scored 20 points along with seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Williamson has scored at least 25% of Potter-Dix's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micayla McConnell, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Despite the loss, Creek Valley still got an impressive performance from Ava Fraass, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Fraass pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anna Speirs, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Potter-Dix's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Creek Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Potter-Dix won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Paxton at 4:15 p.m. on December 9th. Paxton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Potter-Dix in Nebraska (Paxton is ranked 55th, while Potter-Dix is ranked 220th). Creek Valley and Morrill will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
