Basketball Recap: Kaufer Takes a Loss

After flying high against Donna North on Friday, Kaufer came back down to earth. The Seahawks fell 40-32 to the San Perlita Trojans on Saturday. The Seahawks haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Kaufer saw an underclassman step up: sophomore JAYMIE TEN-CATE posted 13 points and five rebounds. That was a full 40.6% of the Seahawks' points, marking the third time in a row TEN-CATE has scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of CELINDA GARZA, who had eight points.

Kaufer's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for San Perlita, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Kaufer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-22 defeat against La Villa on the 22nd. As for San Perlita, they will challenge Grulla at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
