After a string of five wins, Regina Dominican's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ridgewood Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Ridgewood scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18.

Ridgewood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Swiderek, who had ten digs and two aces. Swiderek is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Regina Dominican's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Ridgewood, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 21-6 record.

Regina Dominican wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Elgin on the 18th. As for Ridgewood, they will take on Aurora East at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
