Basketball Game Preview: Northgate Broncos vs. Vallejo Redhawks

The Northgate Broncos are taking a road trip to square off against the Vallejo Redhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northgate will be strutting in after a victory while Vallejo will be coming in after a defeat.

Northgate not only won last Friday, but they posted their biggest win since January 13th (when they won 58-14). They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 50-18 win over Concord. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Northgate relied on the efforts of Lia Perez, who posted 13 points and five rebounds, and Donatella Borvice, who had 12 points and six boards. Those 12 points gave Borvice a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Milli Corral-Pareno, who earned eight points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Vallejo played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 56-28 loss at the hands of Menlo-Atherton. The Redhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win got Northgate back to even at 1-1. As for Vallejo, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Northgate against Vallejo when the teams last played back in December of 2021, as the squad secured a 72-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
