Basketball Recap: Braven Blount Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Washington Montessori

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. The Oakwood School were the clear victors by a 79-54 margin over Washington Montessori. That's more bragging rights for The Oakwood School, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The Oakwood School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braven Blount, who went 15-for-31 on his way to 32 points along with eight steals and seven assists. Another player making a difference was James Miller, who shot 73% from the field en route to 25 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

The win got The Oakwood School back to even at 1-1. As for Washington Montessori, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

The Oakwood School and Washington Montessori will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Eagles see the court they'll take on Pungo Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Washington Montessori, their break will end when they face Ocracoke at 6:30 p.m. on December 4.
