Basketball Game Preview: Crater Comets vs. Lebanon Warriors

The Crater Comets will challenge the Lebanon Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Crater has 15 straight wins, Lebanon has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Crater is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 74-44 victory over Springfield. The Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-33, which was the final score in Lebanon's tilt against South Albany on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Redhawks are ranked 19th).

Crater's win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 43.2 points. As for Lebanon, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

Everything came up roses for Crater against Lebanon in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 74-28 victory. Does Crater have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lebanon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
