Softball Recap: Blackhawk Cougars vs. Harbor Creek Huskies
It's playoff time, and Blackhawk had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Harbor Creek Huskies on Monday, sneaking past 7-5. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Kylie Prisuta made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Ava Elich was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Addy Ramer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Blackhawk was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harbor Creek only posted a batting average of .200.

Coming up, Blackhawk will face off against Valley View at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Valley View's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Blackhawk's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Harbor Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
