Basketball Game Preview: Rock Creek Mustangs vs. Silver Lake Eagles

The Rock Creek Mustangs will face off against the Silver Lake Eagles on Tuesday. Rock Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Silver Lake likes a good challenge.

Rock Creek saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 78-67 victory over Troy. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Trojans are ranked 118th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Silver Lake's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were dealt a 67-38 loss at the hands of Ottawa. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Rock Creek's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Silver Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.

Rock Creek came up short against Silver Lake in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 52-46. Can Rock Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
