Russell Robbins made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Jackson Prep is 8-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 9-11-1 otherwise. Robbins was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Jackson Academy was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Joseph Catholic.
Like Jackson Prep, Jackson Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Deuce Jenkins. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Jenkins has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jackson Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jackson Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Jackson Prep skirted past Jackson Academy 9-8 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
