Preview: Richland vs. South Pike

Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Richland should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will challenge South Pike on the road at 7:00 PM. Richland are limping into the game on a seven-game losing streak.

Richland took a serious blow against Florence last Friday, falling 14-57. Richland's defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Desmond Mcelroy, who picked up 101 yards on the ground and threw 1 TD. Mcelroy has now scored at least one touchdown in the past 4 games.

Meanwhile, South Pike put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They made easy work of McComb and carried off a 38-14 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-6.

South Pike's win lifted them to 5-2 while Richland's loss dropped them down to 0-7. In their win, South Pike relied heavily on senior Deldrionn Amos, who rushed for 152 yards and 1 touchdown. Richland will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
