Baseball Recap: Catholic Memorial Triumphs

The Catholic Memorial Crusaders had just enough and edged out the Luther Prep Phoenix 5-4 on Thursday.

Ian Kawczynski was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Catholic Memorial is 4-1 when Kawczynski posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Miken Haddon, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Catholic Memorial hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Luther Prep struck out seven times.

Catholic Memorial's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-15. As for Luther Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.

As of now, neither Catholic Memorial nor the Phoenix have any future games scheduled.
