Basketball Recap: St. Ignatius College Preparatory Beats Archbishop Riordan for Their Third Straight Win

St. Ignatius College Preparatory won against Christian Brothers last Saturday with 55 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats secured a 55-49 W over the Archbishop Riordan Crusaders. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 60-59 victory the Crusaders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Archbishop Riordan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Trenia Dunbar posted 18 points. Mafalda Fontan Rodriguez was another key player, putting up nine points.

The win (which was St. Ignatius College Preparatory's third in a row) raised their record to 11-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Archbishop Riordan, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
