Volleyball Recap: Vista Grande Takes a Loss

Vista Grande was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Canyon del Oro Dorados. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dorados this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-14, 25-16.

Canyon del Oro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaycee Cook led the charge by getting ten digs and four assists. Another player making a difference was Lila Schladweiler, who had eight assists and two aces.

Vista Grande's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Canyon del Oro, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record this season.

Vista Grande will challenge Catalina Foothills at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Canyon del Oro, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Saguaro on the 23rd.
