Baseball Game Preview: Mineral County Serpents vs. Lone Pine Golden Eagles

The Mineral County Serpents will challenge the Lone Pine Golden Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mineral County has three straight victories, Lone Pine has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Mineral County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Lee Vining 12-2 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Serpents, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Mineral County let Michael Blackwood and Chase Reeves run wild. Blackwood scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3, while Reeves got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most runs Blackwood has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Robinson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lone Pine's offense. They came up short against Bishop Union on Tuesday, falling 32-0.

Mineral County's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lone Pine, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
