Baseball Recap: Brazos Comes Up Short

Brazos fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Calhoun on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Calhoun Sandcrabs, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since May 4, 2024.

Brazos saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Polasek, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Brazos' loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Calhoun, the win got them back to even at 4-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brazos will head out to square off against Boling at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Brazos' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Calhoun, they will head out on the road to take on Aransas Pass at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Aransas Pass' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
