Shadyside was sadly handed a loss on Wednesday, but Ariana Saxton did her best to prevent it. Saxton was unstoppable, striking out 12 batters over 9.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
