Brunswick Academy is 0-4 against Isle of Wight Academy since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chargers at 3:00 p.m. Brunswick Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Brunswick Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Fuqua on Thursday. The Vikings blew past the Falcons 10-1. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Jake McAden was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Brunswick Academy is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. McAden was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Isle of Wight Academy, as they earned their first away win of the season. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Peninsula Catholic on Wednesday. That three run margin sets a new team best for the Chargers this season.
Isle of Wight Academy's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cody Thomas, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Thomas brought in this season. Jason Chapman was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Brunswick Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Isle of Wight Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Isle of Wight Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brunswick Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. It's a different story for Isle of Wight Academy, though, as they've only averaged .285. Will they be able to contain Brunswick Academy's hitters?
Brunswick Academy suffered a grim 12-4 defeat to Isle of Wight Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
