Volleyball Game Preview: Liberty Hurricanes vs. Emmaus Hornets

After both having extra time off, the Liberty Hurricanes and the Emmaus Hornets will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Liberty had taken Freedom down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end two weeks ago. The Hurricanes lost 3-0 to the Patriots. The Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Liberty may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 18 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Emmaus had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Bethlehem Catholic 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won four matches in a row.

Emmaus' win bumped their record up to 23-4-2. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12-2.

Liberty was able to grind out a solid victory over Emmaus in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hurricanes since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
