There's no place like home for Newaygo, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Holton Red Devils by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won four in a row.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Newaygo was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-14.

Ruby Hughes paced Newaygo's offense, picking up 12 kills. Hughes got some help from Grace Hughes and her ten assists. Ruby was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Newaygo's victory bumped their record up to 27-13. As for Holton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.

Newaygo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against White Cloud on the 29th. As for Holton, they will challenge Hesperia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
