Softball Preview: River View Panthers vs. Pe Ell/Willapa Valley
The River View Panthers will square off against Pe Ell/Willapa Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
River View is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Coupeville 18-2. River View's victory was all the more impressive since the Wolves were averaging only 3.86 runs allowed on the season.
Kaydence Mathews made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Mathews was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Danika Koch was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Bree Stacy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
