Basketball Recap: Silverdale Academy Takes a Loss

Silverdale Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats and fell 82-54. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Wildcats are ranked 65th).

Silverdale Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jake McGhee, who posted 15 points. Parker Holland was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Silverdale Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Battle Ground Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Silverdale Academy will be taking part in a tournament against South Pittsburg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Battle Ground Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against The Webb School at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
