Basketball Game Preview: South Haven Cardinals vs. West Elk Patriots

South Haven is 1-9 against West Elk since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The South Haven Cardinals will host the West Elk Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, South Haven turned things around against Argonia on Tuesday. They walked away with a 50-40 win over the Raiders.

Meanwhile, West Elk had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Cedar Vale/Dexter by a score of 52-40 on Tuesday.

South Haven better keep an eye on Maddex Moreno. He was instrumental in West Elk's win, going 7 for 15 en route to 31 points and three steals. Moreno's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Garett Usry, who posted nine points and three steals.

The victory got South Haven back to even at 4-4. As for West Elk, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.
