Volleyball Recap: Raines Takes a Loss

Raines was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the First Coast Buccaneers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-14, 25-13.

Raines' offense was headlined by Rahniya Ransom and Za'Naiyah Anthony, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Tremyiah Edwards and her two assists. Anthony also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with DaNiyah Smith, racking up two apiece.

Raines' loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for First Coast, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Raines didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Englewood on the 18th. As for First Coast, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Westside on the 17th.
