Baseball Game Preview: Klamath Union Pelicans vs. Mazama Vikings

The Klamath Union Pelicans are taking a road trip to challenge the Mazama Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Klamath Union has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 17.

On Friday, Klamath Union came up short against Phoenix and fell 6-1.

Klamath Union saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was PJ Safford, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Mazama couldn't beat Hidden Valley on Friday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Vikings fell 11-6 to the Mustangs.

Max Rodgers was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Klamath Union's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Mazama, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9-1.

Klamath Union suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Mazama in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Pelicans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
